"Outwardly celebrating the love of Jesus Christ for all,
Through the arts, fellowship, & preaching of the Gospel"
FishFest is based on a passage of scripture that captures the essence of a people refusing to appease authorities when it came to celebrating God. Luke 19:38-40 shows an encounter Jesus has with the Pharisees. As Jesus approached, the crowd of disciples began shouting about the miracles which they had seen, ""shouting: BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" (Luke 19:38, NASB) The Pharisees thought the crowd's celebration to be sacrilegious and blasphemous (Luke 19:39, NASB). Jesus replied that, "...if these become silent, the stones will cry out!" (Luke 19:40, NASB). Jesus was setting up God's eternal Kingdom -- a reason for the greatest celebration of all.
In a time where the political climate both nationally and locally is aggresively seeking to silent public displays of Christian worship, we offer FishFest. FishFest is nothing more than a group of like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ looking to provide a time of worship publicly and unashamed so that all may have the opportunity to experience the love of Jesus Christ.
